Once considered a sacred herb in Celtic tradition, mistletoe, one of the major phyto-components of Diatea, has been used for centuries for conditions as diverse as high blood pressure, epilepsy, exhaustion, anxiety, arthritis, and degenerative inflammation of the joints.
PHYTO-PHARMACOLOGICAL INFORMATION
Diatea reduces blood sugar by enhancing peripheral absorption of glucose and increase insulin production. It exhibits hypolipidemic, hypocholesterolemic attribute due to the combine action of the phytochemical-active ingredients present in the drug. Diatea also possesses hypotensive attribute.
MAJOR INDICATIONS/USES OF THE DRUG
It is used for management of Diabetes, high cholesterol and hypertension.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Adult: Add two tea bags into 300ml of boiled water. Take one cup twice daily
Caution: The use of Diatea by Children [below 18 years), pregnant and lactating mothers are not advised except prescription by Qualified Healthcare Provider because of high amount of mistletoe present.

INTERACTION WITH FOOD, HERBS AND CONVENTIONAL MEDICINE
Best used 1 hour before meal. Concomitant use of Diatea with meal rich in tyramine is not advised because of the presence of tyramine in the drug, which can lead to increase in the additive effect. With other herbs, no undue interactions have been reported. Use of Diatea with CNS depressants may enhance sedative effects.
OVER DOSAGE
Elevations of liver enzymes have been reported with high doses of mistletoe.
